I like my co-workers a lot. They're great people to be around and we keep each other smiling as we work through the day. We have lunch and Bible study every Wednesday and that has been an added blessing. Occasionally one of us will bring donuts to work for the rest, or coffee, or both and that's just an outward show of how we appreciate one another. Moral tends to be good. (c: Well, I'd like to bring something other than donuts sometime, but I can't think of what.
The reason I want to bring something different is that different co-workers have expressed dismay at their accumulation of paunch. (i.e. they're getting bigger around the waist) I care about how they feel (and hey, about myself as well!) so I don't want to add to the mass. Any suggestions as to what less fattening but equally pleasing thing I can bring in for a snack for us guys? Carrot sticks and celery would just be an insult. Slimfast would be equally so. (c:
Looking forward to some suggestions!

Chips and salsa? Popcorn? Crackers and cheese? (like Wallace: "I could go for some Gorganzola") Hummus and chips or pita? Whale blubber and dried herring?
!! hey techsam, how did you know about whale blubber and dried herring?!! If we had some nearby, i would be totally up for that. That's a classic Faroese snack. (c:
I was going to say crackers and cheese, and the chips and slasa can be made higher in protein by opening a thingy of cream cheese into a wide bowl, then dumping a can or bottle of chunky slasa over it, to go with the chips. Always a hit. Sliced apple and slices of cheddar cheese to go with it are really great too.
I hear that hot foods speed up metabolism.
Hi Luke,
I was also thinking of fruit... something like a plate of grapes - 2 colors to make it look good. Or dates stuffed with nuts, if you're feeling like working at it a little. They might not mind a few veggies if they're interesting, such as radishes, cucumbers, little tomatoes, etc.
I have the same thing at my office. Everyone likes scones, but I think they feel guilty eating them too often, so I like to bring other things that look appetizing but are healthy!
Bagels. From Bonjour Bagels, on La Mirada, near Wendy's. Fresh, and awesome.
