This morning my housemates and I got up early to go surfing. We went with WACC (Whittier Area Community Church) because they have spare boards and wetsuits, and they don't mind teaching new people. This was my first time surfing! (c: It was a lot of fun, and I look forward to more, maybe as soon as a weekday morning, and at latest, upcoming Saturday. Also coming soon is a surfboard of my own. I'll keep you posted.
So from surfing I managed a lengthy return from the beach to my local area. Lengthy, because I got lost, drove far, did a grand loop, and finally got back on track 45 minutes later than I originally intended. Ah well. I learned while I was at it, so it was actually enjoyable. I was "rushing" to help Joy P. move to her new apartment. Helping out was fun, even if I did arrive late and there wasn't a whole lot left to do (and I had to leave shortly after for the following event).
So, I pushed off before we finished unloading the cars/truck and went up to my youngest niece's (Amelia) first birthday party! That was much fun and it was good to see Ariana and Jeff as well. Also there was cousin Heidi with her kids (out from TX), cousin Gretchen, Aunts Robin and Gretchen, cousin Heather, Grandma and Grandpa, friends from New Heart, and other less categorically known people. (c: Amelia was as cute as ever, and the birthday food and drink was excellent. Leaving a bit early from the park I ran some errands in preparation for the day's final event: Viking Feast!
My housemates decided a few weeks back that we should have a Viking Feast at the house, and tonight was the night for it. What exactly is a Viking Feast? It entails slaying a Troll by throwing axes, spears, cleavers, or knives at it.

Then a photo shoot, and lastly we just now finished with watching the viking themed movie: 13th Warrior.

Whoa! Viking feast! gotta remember that...
Btw, who are your current housemates? The same ones that you were living with when I visited awhile back?
Sounds like are really great day, especially the tetosterone slathered final event! Great, even priceless, pictures!
love it. So glad you guys had the opportunity to flex your testosterone...
Sounds like a completely awesome way to spend the evening. I'm wishing I was there right now.
No idea why men go for paintball, when they can be vikings! By the way, do you think the vikings had more deaths coz they had beer instead of Coke? Maybe paintball is safer for Belgians.
Wow! I'm speechless!
What a great idea!! I want to hold one of those events here :-P
Awesome. I'm speechless. I didn't think you'd find a way to top your porrige festival.
