Pictures are worth thousands of words, right? I think the person who said that didn't have the internet. (c: Here's a few reasons why words are better:
1) Words help us search the internet. If you're looking for something, you can't draw a picture of it, you can't click on a picture to say, "It is like this." Words are great.
2) Words often express more clearly and briefly than a picture. (I said _often_.)
3) Words are cool and allow for creative structure, whereas a picture is exactly that.. and to make it more would require "artistic ability". Yay for the lay persons!
I kinda just thought up that third point. Anyway, here are some links to various events that have occured in the past month or two:
Grandma's 80th and Mom's surprise visit for the occasion!
D & H visit with the kids!
Joe's 26th!
I also put up pictures from a number of other things.. which can all be seen on my flickr account.
The two pictures in this post are scanned photos from in high school photo class.

Ok, I know there are a lot of reasons why pictures are better than words. (c: One of the first things that comes to mind is journalism and the impact a good picture can have. Pictures ARE amazing means for conveying information, emotion, and much more. I just re-read the post and realized I made an absolute statement about words being better. (c: That's not really what I mean.
You evil person! :)
I like your little disclaimer comment too.
I don't think that the guy who said that statement really meant that pictures are better than words, but that a picture can contain so much meaning that you can get "a thousand words" from it. :)
Words, though, can be very beautiful when put together in correct ways. I love words.
Good distinction, Malabooyah!
I'm inclined to agree.
I'm a lover of words myself - the adjective "articulate" comes to mind...words allow one to communicate more accurately and clearly than sometimes a picture can.
But sometimes pictures convey concepts much more powerfully than words ever will.
I think perhaps that's why God gives us both forms to communicate with.
yAY FOR HIGHSCHOOL PHOTO-- A CLASS I so WISH I HAD TAKEN! :)
I agree. A book, for instance, usually contains so much detail, that they can't fit it all into the movie. If a movie can be compared to a picture.
Pictures might be more primitive and quickly digested. Hmm, I think I'll think about this some more....
