from blood to bruise

A quick update on the blood giving... my arm bruised quite a bit. All the way down to the middle of my forearm and near my elbow joint. (the round bit that sticks out). I expected a bit of bruising but not so much, and it's been 11 days. So, does anyone know if its bad that my forearm muscle hurts, as well as the joint (and actually, my shoulder as well). It particularly hurts when I don't use it (as in, when I sleep), or when I keep my elbow flexed at less than a 90 degree angle. Kind of an achey burning sensation. Anyhoo, if you know something, let me know!

Otherwise, everything is going alright. A group of us went up to the mountains over the weekend and that was great. Idyllwild area. Lots of casual conversation and marshmallow burning. We got in trouble with the authorities (forestry service) but it was for something that was not clearly written. Oh, and we got shushed by another forestry person when we were too loud at night before falling asleep. It rained a bit too. We didn't have a tent, just a tarp. Good fun. (c: Here's some pictures that Jonathan took on the trip. More later when Phil puts some up. The photos dated July 10th are the ones from the trip.

Ouch! Whoever did your stab didn't do a good job. It is probably not serious, but blood has gotten all down into the tissues, just as if someone had hit you on the arm, causing blood vessles to rupture, causing a bruise. Next time, tell the stabber what happened this time, and ask them to bemore careful.

Camping sounds likea lot of fun! :-)

Keep pumping the arm to help the bruise blood drain. Very light massage (think almost feathery tickling, one layer deeper) up toward your armpit should also speed things along.

Needles suck!

My photos are finally up, f00.

Oh, and when you link to me, you need to put http://philisha.net. If you forget the http it will think it's a relative hyperlink and not work.

yeah momma, I think you're right. The nurse likely jabbed through my vein a bit, and the blood went out and into my muscle area. The bruising is on the surface, but I suspect goes deep as well. Ariana, I'll massage it like you suggested, and use it a bit, but I read up on it a bit, and massage was discouraged. The 'danger' involved with deeper bruises/blood pockets is that as it heals, it can form a bone-like substance that will make the area permanently sore. Or something like that.

Anyhoo, it seems better today. I was actually more concerned that maybe it was a blood clot robbing my muscle of blood or something serious like that (a blood clot which, according to my vivid imagination, could dislodge and get stuck in either my heart, lung, or brain somewhere; ergo death). (c:
