Kefir up close

Kefir up close, originally uploaded by rafta.

Here's a good shot of kefir grains. They're slightly spongy. Here's a portion of what wikipedia says about it:

Kefir grains are a combination of bacteria and yeasts in a matrix of proteins, lipids, and sugars. This symbiotic matrix forms grains that resemble cauliflower. Today, kefir is becoming increasingly popular due to new research into its health benefits. Many different bacteria and yeasts are found in the kefir grains, which are a complex and highly variable community of micro-organisms.

Kefir Julius and another shot of kefir grains are at my flickr account.

That looks really actually a little bit gross.

really actually a little bit, eh? no need to dodge about, it is a queesy sort of science. It's sick like wet pop-corn. (c:

but cheese is kind-of sick too. And meat, if you look at it the wrong way. And even honey...

milk itself is pretty weird. cow's mammary glands being drained of their fluids, and we like to drink it. yum....

It's all perspective. (c:

Except when I say your face is REALLY gross looking. That is more of a known fact, which everyone conveniently agrees upon.

BOOM!

lol! well, my eyes are a bit red lately... could do with some more sleep, my pores aren't a pretty close-up picture, and i definitely have a greasy 'shine' on my face as well. call it REALLY gross if you like. I could also do with a shave... and I smirk when I don't mean to. lol

not everyone can be as good looking as you lem, that's just the way it is. but just about everyone isn't as arrogant as you. (c:

Actually, all that you described is pretty hot. You should walk past a woman and see how it goes.

i can't really respond to that w/o coming across arrogant as well, so I won't. heh

Umm... back to the kefir. My favorite thing about it is the carbonated dairy drink. Who would have thought it would be so tasty?
