Well, I'm at work and am as drowsy as can be. Still have a couple hours before I'm done (will leave half early). Quite a bit to do, so will get to that in just a moment or two. Jet-lag hadn't struck until yesterday morning, after taunting it with a coffee the night before. Long day yesterday, only cut short by the fact that I went to sleep at roughly... 6 or 7pm. Woke again this morning at 3:30am. And... am now, understandably, sleepy at 17 hours later. Ah... yes.
Tomorrow, I'll make use of my brother daniel's fine gifts of coffee grinder and bag of home-roasted coffee, and such will be adequate remedy for my jetlag, or so I hope. I've already heard high praise of the coffee's quality from others and excited to try it for myself. The hardest part is trying to figure out the serving size, as I'm used to making coffee for 2-4 people, not just one. I'll use my brother Peter's french press though, and that might help gauge a bit better (it makes something of a max of 2.5 servings). Mustn't have too much or two strong though, else I get jittered/anxious and not keen on a repeat.

Rather than try to make a weak cup, make it strong on purpose, and dilute it with hotwater after it is made. That will not change the flavor too much. I would also recommend food before the coffee. If you have left overs, you can save it for the afternoon ice coffee, which is mostly milk.
Glad you heard good reviews!
hey Luke thanks for all the help you've given me on the blog, I think i've got it sorted now!
Oh and get some sleep, not sure why it's effecting you so much, don't remember it being to bad as a watch keeper?
No probs about the stat counter, I guess they all do it! (c:
yeah, I got more sleep last night. A 'normal' amount. I just need to stay awake normal hours and hold-off on drinking caffeine in the afternoon/evening.
On watch, was always a little crazy, but for some reason settling into rythms wasn't that bad. Always the first couple of nights off watch it was difficult to sleep, usually stayed up until 4am or so, writing e-mails or playing games in the Engine Office. Manie Grobler had the hardest times with sleep related to watch, he had pretty severe insomnia.
Brother's coffee was very good. Fantastic in fact. Grandma liked it as well. It had better flavor and less bitter than starbucks (which is sadly the only comparison i can make). Seemed quite "rounded". Will have it again tomorrow and try and get all the highlights that are contained. (c: Thanks again Daniel!
