Here's an interesting tip for all of you people like me who think, in general, the evenings are cold.
When you go to bed at night, and the bed is cold, and the sheets are cold, and it takes forever to get warm (particularly your feet), even though you are wearing pajamas/a sweater...
Well, you will actually be warmer if you wear less clothes to bed. In fact, if you have a good blanket/comforter, sleeping with little to nothing on (yes, naked) will make for the quickest comfortable temperature. This is because your central body heat (which comes from your chest/torso) will be distributed into the full cavity/bubble that is your space beneath the covers. Clothes hinder the heat from spreading out, and so.. cold feet.
I find this to be VERY useful and it is a fact that I'm glad I know! I hope this helps any of you who maybe struggle with never being warm enough while trying to sleep.

And for those of you who really don't want to sleep in the natural, there are electric blankets...
What if hot feet are the problem? Wear more clothes to keep them from heating things up too much?
might work, actually. 'course I don't know the unusual dynamics involved with being a couple and all that. (c:
i think someday I'll get myself an electric blanket, there's something really nice about getting into an already warm bed.
thanks Luke for your insight! will try next winter
very interesting. But dare I say, overshare?!?
i suppose you do say 'overshare' though I don't agree. this is a tip that you won't find somewhere else, and I have found it very beneficial. I wish I had known it before when I was trying to keep warm in a sleeping bag, or bundled up in freezing weather in Albania. It can make such a huge difference. certainly not overshare, in my mind.
Good to know, Luke...I always bundle up on these cold Texas nights, but don't like feeling too warm in the middle of the night after all that bundling... :)
