Cool. We'll definitely parkourize when I come over in July. Currently I'm working on breakdancing stuff. I'm mainly working on my arm strength by doing hand stands. I also want to work on more acrobatic moves, like flips and such, but I'm worried about significantly hurting myself.
Great! I'm really looking forward to it. I've started some of my own training, but not much. Mostly arm2shoulder2back2butt/legs rolls. I'm worried about significantly hurting myself as well, and the fact that we wear glasses doesn't really help. I did a 360 jump in the air, and my glasses leapt readily from my face. blast. ah well. contacts! (c: I'll be practicing handstands as well, and will have to get back into push-ups (ugh). I'm so bad at those.
remember people! make your houses, yards, and neighborhoods (parks) parkour friendly! Your youths will have a good outlet for their energy, a developed focus, and a it'll be great fun! None of this break-off plastic trash, more solid concrete and cement. More vaultable things. be good to your neighborhood athletes!
Actually mom, I've found that few practicers of Parkour get seriously injured. All say, 'bumps, scrapes and bruises, but nothing major'. I've looked at a forum that was specifically about "your worst injury". I'd say 1 out of 20 or less actually had an injury that was... putting them off parkour for a month or two. (c: I was surprised too!
I think part of the reason for this is that they are constantly saying "practice practice practice the basics". Maybe our bodies are more resilient than we think as well?
Actually, I believe you. The more someone practices and gets control of their bodies in any sport, the less injuries there are. It is the weekend warrior that has the most injuries. I think you would be very good at this particular sport!
nice to see how concerned your mom is for your health Luke! Moms are like that ej? Just make sure that when you go bungee jumping your rope isn't too long and I'm sure for the rest and with parkour and all you'll be alright... :) Take care man! Warm greetings ~Luke~
