shareability

I share music.

But there are limits. The limits I try to constrain myself to are basically, share that music which I think someone would enjoy, and otherwise not be able to listen to. "Able to" here means, with money, they still wouldn't know to get the music, or the music may even be unavailable to them. The premier example of this is my cd of Sami Saari. I'm willing to make copies of the cd to the few people I think would really appreciate it, and who don't have the resources to go out and buy it for themselves. Is that wrong? I suppose it is still illegal. Sigh.

Well, I like Sami Saari's CD Neljäs. I'd recommend it to Finnish people, and others like me who enjoy listening to music in languages they don't understand. Other favorites; Dudu by Tarkan, and Mensch by Herbert Grönemeyer. Pop in other languages is so much fun. (c: (i know, mensch isn't really pop at all, but for Tarkan.. yeah, i think it is).

As an addition to this note; i just bought a used copy of "live across the wire" two cd set of live performances by Counting Crows. It's been great to listen to. I've enjoyed their music but never owned any of their albums. To be quite honest, I don't even really know the lyrics to any of the songs which I enjoy. But that'll be changing. I also realized that they say an expletive in a couple their songs which isn't so great, but maybe not really misplaced. It bothers me a bit, but I'll 'tolerate it' and maintain my disaproval.

The problem is that while it's impossible to make a coherent moral argument for why what you're doing is wrong, the legal argument has been made, and isn't going anywhere.

Write your congressmen; I think that's the only way out of this one.
